In every home, it is good to have a first-aid kit, which should contain medicines and dressing materials of first necessity. Most often they include pills for headache, upset stomach, cotton, bandage, etc

In the conditions of a coronavirus pandemic, however, should the contents of our home first aid kit be changed? The therapist Lyudmila Lapa gives an answer to this question.

However, she emphasizes, the main thing in case of general malaise is to consult a doctor.

"In a period of danger of contracting any virus, but especially in the autumn-winter season, you should keep a small first aid kit in the house to help a person immediately before a doctor comes. Calling a doctor is mandatory. But the most important thing is to have something to help immediately," says Lapa.

So, in case of fever, the doctor advised to take antipyretic drugs. In addition, the therapist recommended keeping antibiotics in the first-aid kit, specifically macrolides, as they are safer.

She reminded that antibiotics should be taken regularly only after consulting a doctor.

Also, the doctor advised to stock up on antiviral drugs, immune-boosting drugs, vitamins, and drugs containing lactobacilli and bifidobacteria.

Fill the first aid kit at home, but in no case do not self-medicate, the doctor advises.
