Herpes is a viral disease characterized by a rash of clustered vesicles on the skin and mucous membranes. According to scientific research, by the age of 18, more than 90% of urban residents are infected with one or more strains of herpes.
"Infection with the herpes virus can happen through the air-droplet route, during sexual contact and contact with someone else's blood," warns Dr. Sergey Agapkin, author of the book "365 Rules for Activity and Longevity."
Herpes infection most often manifests itself in childhood. Then the virus remains in a "sleepy" state, waiting for the body to weaken under the influence of some other disease, stress or excessive exposure to sunlight. For some people, food may be a trigger - if so, you'll soon find out which foods to avoid.

Herpes on the lips occurs at least once in almost every adult, and everyone knows well the sensation of tingling or itching that heralds its appearance. As a rule, it manifests itself at the most inopportune moment - before an interview for a new job, before a big family celebration and even before a wedding! Then the culprit is stress. Lack of sleep, abuse of alcohol, coffee and cigarettes, extreme diets are also among the risk factors for the appearance of herpes.
Unfortunately, a method to completely eliminate the herpes virus does not currently exist. Fortunately, there are many good preparations that can be applied topically, taken as tablets, or even given intravenously in more severe cases. In herpes exacerbations, antiviral agents are also used for treatment. However, treatment should always be under medical supervision to prevent complications, warns Dr. Agapkin.
And as with most diseases, and with the appearance of herpes, there are permitted and prohibited foods. For herpes, it is helpful to eat foods rich in lysine, an amino acid that weakens the activity of the herpes virus. These products include: potatoes, cheese, meat, poultry, fish (except halibut), eggs, yogurt, milk, soy, lentils, brewer's yeast.
Avoid nuts, seeds, beans, peas, carrots, radishes, eggplant, cabbage, chocolate. You should also give up alcohol and hot spices.
Regardless of herpes, you can engage in any type of physical activity. It should only be remembered that hypothermia and excessive physical exertion can cause an exacerbation of herpes.
And since herpes is contagious, at the first signs, before its appearance, start treatment with some medicine. Do not kiss anyone and use individual face towels, cups, dishes, lipstick - anything that touches the sore area. After the herpes disappears, change the brush and toothpaste.

Five Grandma's Recipes
1. Baking Soda
Pour 1/2 cup of water into a container and wait until it boils. Add one tablespoon of baking soda, stir and remove from heat. Dip a cotton swab in the liquid and place it on the cold sore. After it cools down, repeat the procedure.
2. Garlic
Garlic is a universal ingredient in all grandmother's recipes. Grate it and place it directly on the cold sore. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water. If you dab on the cold sore as soon as it appears, it may be gone by the end of the day.
3. snake milk
Snake milk has a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. For the treatment of herpes, the juice of the plant, which is contained in its root and partly in its stems and leaves, is used. You only need to wet a cotton ball with the juice and smear the sores.
4. Tea tree and olive oil
Mix 2 teaspoons of olive oil and 4 drops of tea tree oil. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and dab it on the cold sore. It is good to repeat the procedure 4 times a day. Tea tree has antiseptic and antiviral properties that help speed recovery.
5. Apple cider vinegar and honey
Since the appearance of herpes can be due to a weak immune system, the combination of honey and apple cider vinegar leads to its strengthening. Honey is a unique remedy that fights various types of diseases. Apple cider vinegar, on the other hand, contains many vitamins, minerals and amino acids. And that is why it is known as a natural antibiotic that kills bacteria and infections.
