Stress is one of the causes of chest and heart pain in a he althy person. In stressful situations, the body produces adrenaline and norepinephrine. These hormones are called "stress hormones". During anxiety and excitement, the pulse becomes faster and, therefore, the heart muscle's need for oxygen increases, so a person begins to breathe faster.
In some cases, when the body, for one reason or another, is not able to provide the heart with the oxygen necessary for its work, unpleasant sensations may occur in the chest area, which often develop into pain. For example, pain and numbness in the muscles of the limbs in an incorrectly chosen sleeping position occur by the same mechanism - a discrepancy between the amount of oxygen delivered to the muscle and its need for it.
In this case, the pain is not always localized exactly in the area of the heart, it can appear in the chest, radiate to the left shoulder blade, arm, lower jaw, stomach and esophagus. In addition, the nature of pain can be different. A person may feel burning, stretching, pressure, spasm (sharp or dull, sharp or paralyzing), accompanied by lack of air and fatigue. Usually, such an attack lasts from a few seconds to a few hours.
If such symptoms occur once, you should not worry. If the pain in the heart occurs systematically, you should immediately consult a doctor, since such conditions signal a pathological process in the body. If you do not take measures in time, it can lead to disturbances in the heart rhythm and the appearance of constant attacks of palpitations.
