A s alt room against viruses was opened in the capital's 171st kindergarten "Svoboda" in "Nadezhda" housing complex. The room is equipped with a halogen generator that creates a suitable therapeutic microclimate. The walls of the room are covered with 4 layers of natural s alt, and the halogenator injects dry aerosolized sodium chloride, which is inhaled and has a beneficial effect on the body, explained the deputy director of the kindergarten, Diana Rusimova
"Through the procedures in the so-called s alt room will be able to prevent seasonal viral infections and stabilize the children's immune system. Staying in it has a good effect on people with he alth problems such as asthma, chronic respiratory diseases, colds, allergies, skin diseases, etc. About 280 children from the daycare center aged 4 to 7 will be able to benefit from the acquisition completely free of charge. The little ones will visit the s alt room depending on their state of he alth and in the presence of a medical person," explained pediatrician Dr. Gergana Nikolova.
Dr. Nikolova, what are the effects of s alt therapy?
- It's called halotherapy. This method is not new, it has been known since ancient times. In 1991 and 1994, a study was conducted on patients with chronic respiratory problems in 15 hospitals in Moscow. It has been found that there is a very good positive effect of this therapy in chronic lung diseases.
Adverse environment has become a huge problem in today's world. Gas pollution from vehicles, factory emissions, poor quality food and constant stress at school and at work negatively affect our he alth. Busy life in a big city is a prerequisite for reduced immunity, stress, poor sleep, chronic fatigue, chronic bronchitis, hay fever, skin diseases, allergies, respiratory catarrh, asthma and other respiratory diseases. The list of diseases acquired over the years is getting longer and longer. Halotherapy has a beneficial effect on the drainage function of the bronchi, activates the body's defense mechanisms, strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammation in the lungs and respiratory tract.
How specifically are viral infections affected?
- With them, we all talk about prevention, and before the flu comes.
The immune defense of the body increases - this is the direct effect that occurs in children up to 6 years of age. With them, it is still not well developed and this is the desired effect with the s alt room. Inhaling the s alts of the s alt, entering the respiratory system, they displace the pathogenic microorganisms that somehow got there and destroy them. In children with some chronic diseases - tonsillitis, sick tonsils, for example, it has a very good effect. For those with chronic spastic bronchitis, with allergies, asthma, also an extremely good effect. It also has a very good effect on skin dermatitis. During the children's visit to the s alt room, there is always a medical person, at least a nurse, who will monitor them, controlling the time they spend in the room and counting the number of procedures. They will be 4-5 for 10 min.
How many minutes can elderly people stay in such rooms?
- The best method to protect ourselves from acute viral infections is by breathing fresh air. Unfortunately, in the busy urban environment, this is almost impossible. The easiest way to keep our lungs clean is by spending 40 minutes in a s alt room. The air there is unusually clean from a microbiological point of view and does not contain dust, germs and fungal spores.
Filled with tiny s alt particles, when inhaled, this air saturated with negative s alt ions does its positive healing work by improving metabolic processes in the body, pushing out toxic elements and replacing them with natural ions of natural origin.
The main merit of halotherapy consists in cleansing the organs of the respiratory system. Staying in the s alt room helps to saturate the cells with useful ions, thereby restoring lung function, and the microflora of the respiratory tract is cleansed of dust and harmful bacteria.
Does s alt only have such a beneficial effect on our respiratory system?
- Halotherapy is a special type of treatment that takes place in an environment where the air is controlled and reproduces the natural microclimate of a s alt cave found in natural s alt caves. During the session, the s alty air increases blood saturation with oxygen, forms the body's defenses to fight infections and viruses. The therapeutic process has a good effect on the nervous system, relieves stress and anxiety through an environment saturated with negative ions. Negative ions reduce stress, headaches, lethargy, depression and increase energy, mental agility and improve physical condition.
S alt lamp
Treatment at home
Even if you don't visit s alt rooms, you can conduct home halotherapy using a Himalayan s alt lamp with a light bulb or candle attached. When it is heated, negative ions are released from the surface of the s alt. With their help, the excess positive ion mass at home is neutralized. This reduces the harmful effects of modern technology, helps with headaches, insomnia and irritability. In addition, negative ions help with stress, chronic fatigue and nervousness. As a result, halotherapy makes people more energetic, even happier, improving their overall he alth
S alt air protects us from bacteria and allergens
Proponents of this type of therapy claim that the s alty air protects the premises from bacteria and allergens. In them, the humidity and temperature are usually constant, and the atmospheric pressure is higher compared to that at the surface. The air in the former s alt mines is highly ionized, which is also good for the sick. Examples include the fact that drugs used to treat respiratory diseases and lung mucus contain high amounts of s alt, and sterile water sprayed as a mist is ingested by patients.
However, there is still no definitive answer and definitive evidence that s alt rooms help the sick. Serious studies are still few and do not provide evidence and conclusions that staying in the old s alt mines can cure respiratory diseases.
In one study, patients reported feeling subjectively better, but no improvement in the flow of air passing through their lungs was found after testing. In another study, they reported that they slept better and had a better mood after treatment in the mines, but according to scientists, the effect was more of a placebo. On the other hand, however, no harmful effects of halotherapy have been found. Moreover, the patients are satisfied with their stay in the s alt mines and at least improve their mood.
The method is not another fad
This is a beneficial effect method that has been used for hundreds of years. The beginning of modern therapy began in the 19th century, when the attending physician in the Polish s alt mines, Felix Bochkowski, noticed that the miners did not get sick despite the harsh working conditions and stress. After years of research and scientific works, the first "Pulmonary S alt Hospital" opened in this s alt mine in Poland. In the 1980s, Russian scientists developed the halogenator. With its help, the microclimate of the s alt mine is recreated, but in the city. In 2003, Professor Gorbenko patented the "Quantum Energy S alt Room". This discovery of his and the third generation halogenator revolutionized s alt treatment and increased its effectiveness.
