On the occasion of 135 years since the founding and 130 years since the naming of Aleksandrovsk Hospital, the reconstructed and super-modern Nephrology Clinic of the hospital was officially opened. It is one of the leaders in the country, where classic and innovative methods of ultrasound diagnostics of the kidneys and excretory system and biopsy methods in nephrology are applied. The head of the clinic is Prof. Boris Bogov. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical Academy - Sofia in 1985. He has speci alties in internal medicine and nephrology. He specialized in hospitals in France and Osaka, Japan. This is what Prof. Bogov told about the work of the renovated clinic.

What is the most common pathology you work with?

- The Nephrology Clinic of "Alexandrovska" occupies the basement and part of a three-story building, built more than 110 years ago, in which no general repairs were carried out until February 2014. Now 1,250 square meters worth of BGN 850,000 have been renovated, granted by the Ministry of He alth. An internal overhaul of the hospital was carried out, with a complete replacement of the flooring, the joinery and several types of installations (electrical, heating, plumbing, installation for medical gases). After the renovation, the hospital rooms have their own bathroom and shower cabin, one of them is adapted for people with disabilities. In the newly built spaces in the basement, there are new rooms for laboratory and educational purposes, household and storage rooms, sanitary facilities. Before that, the basement could not be used at all, there were only cockroaches and mice.
