Australian Kelly Mansell is only 22 years old. But despite her youth, she has experienced tremendous trials. Fate de alt her a double whammy with two horrific accidents within a week when she was only 17 years old.
The first test is when Kelly drives her car alone. She was tired and fell asleep for a second.
When he opens his eyes the car has already gone off the road through the ditch and flipped 5 times before landing on the ceiling. After the spectacular somersault mortale, the car is left with a pile of sheet metal, and Kelly, unbelievable as it is, gets away with only bruises.
In the beginning, however, the doctors assume that she has broken her neck and she goes into serious stress. To dispel Kelly's gloomy thoughts, her father invites her for a ride on his motorbike. But surprisingly the engine explodes and the boat bursts into flames.
Kelly is badly burned. "When I threw myself from the burning boat into the water, I saw that my skin seemed to be floating away from me, it was like a flag hanging from a pole," recalls the horror Kelly.
The girl spent more than a month in a hospital bed. And two whole years of intensive treatment are needed for her complete recovery.
A big test for Kelly is her return to school. At this time, she has no eyebrows and is almost hairless. Instead of sympathy, she is met with a hail of ridicule from her classmates. "The only thing that kept me from going crazy was my family and playing sports," explains Kelly.
She does not lose heart and comes out of the difficult situation with honor and dignity. She herself notes that this period of physical and spiritual trials hardened her character.
