Every person has suffered from it at least once in their life. But constipation does not only cause us discomfort, it can also lead to quite serious he alth problems, poisoning and weakening our body. Intoxication in constipation is quite active, because feces, not finding a way out, accumulate and begin to release toxic substances in the intestinal wall. They, in turn, get into the blood and cause its poisoning. Hence the headache and all the other problems

Constipation is defined as long-term retention of stool, when a person cannot defecate for 2 or more days. Fortunately, there are many options for treating this problem, including those that can be actively used in a home setting. For example, eating 5 prunes for breakfast.

The first thing you need to do at home to deal with this problem is to change your diet. We have already said about prunes. Pay special attention to them! Fatty, spicy, acidic and refined foods (and they are quite often present on our table in winter) are a traditional cause of serious disorders in the digestive system. This means that you need to exclude these dangerous products from your menu.

You should also include more fiber in your daily menu. This means that it is good to have fresh vegetables and fruits on your table. Cellulose is a fibrous food that is not fully absorbed by the body, therefore, when moving through the intestines, it actively cleans them. Just eat some s alty coleslaw with vegetable oil to get rid of constipation quietly at home.

People suffering from problems with bowel movements should add products such as bran to their menu. They are a perfect means of cleaning the intestines, which leads to the improvement of peristalsis. Eat just a few tablespoons a day to experience significant improvement.

Oil - effective medicine

By the way, we also have a Bulgarian folk method for treating constipation with oil: together with food, once a day before lunch, take 1 teaspoon of your favorite oil: sunflower, olive or linseed.

Specialists also recommend the use of lactic acid products, long known for their laxative properties. Drinks, such as yogurt, ayran and others, perfectly cleanse the body of various unnecessary waste products and contribute to the normalization of metabolism.

Add half a spoonful of flaxseed to all meals whenever possible. The seeds, once in the intestines, will cause them to actively contract, pushing their contents to the exit… It is only important when treating constipation with flaxseed that you do not forget to add it to every meal.

Does it make sense to take laxatives?

As a rule, many people try to deal with this delicate problem with the help of laxatives and preparations. However, not all medications are suitable for this purpose. For example, pharmaceutical drugs for constipation are often not recommended for people suffering from kidney disease.

Specialists claim that traditional medicine has many herbal medicines that you can prepare yourself and which will not have such a destructive effect on the body as drugs.

Help from herbs

Here are some proven and effective recipes with herbs:

• Add sugar in 1:1 proportions to fresh rowan berries. Leave in the refrigerator for 28 days. If the fruit has released a lot of juice, add more sugar. Then squeeze the fruit. The resulting syrup is diluted with alcohol: for every half liter add 25 ml of pure alcohol. Everything is mixed well. Take 50 ml of this homemade drink daily, every morning, 20 minutes before meals.

• Mix equal amounts of senna, buckthorn and equal. Pour a glass of water and place on the stove. Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Then strain and add more boiling water to the decoction so that you get 200 ml of infusion. Drink 100 ml of the decoction twice a day. You will feel the effect of these herbal recipes after 6-8 hours.

• 1 tea cup of yarrow flower, 1 tea cup of calendula flower. Mixed well, the flowers are fried with pure lard for about 500 years. It is strained and after it cools, the ointment is used for smearing in the morning and evening and for hemorrhoids.

• Take 80 grams of mint leaves, 80 grams of motherwort leaves, 80 grams of licorice root, rose, 15 grams of chamomile flowers. One tablespoon of herbal mixture is boiled for 10 minutes in 500 milliliters of water and after straining, drink one glass of wine 3 times a day before meals. In more severe cases, two are also consumed.

• If you are a fan of sweet taste, molasses is just for you. It is said that the "sweet medicine" cleanses the intestines of toxins accumulated in them. Take one teaspoon of molasses every day. If you do not like the taste of the product, you can dissolve the molasses in a glass of milk or juice. A good alternative is the combination of molasses and peanut butter. Mix equal amounts of both products and consume one spoon every morning.

• Nutmeg tea has a wonderful aroma, making it a preferred drink regardless of stomach ailments. The decoction has a calming effect and is often recommended for sleep problems. To deal with an unpleasant condition, consume one cup of nutmeg tea a day.

Fighting constipation at home, you must not forget that if you want it to be effective, you must apply it comprehensively. What does this mean?

Every day apply two or three different methods: a teaspoon of linseed, sunflower oil, five prunes, drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day and walk a minimum of one hour a day… In at the same time, some of the non-traditional methods should not be applied blindly, such as enemas and laxatives. Why? Because there is a serious risk that the intestines get used to not emptying themselves and become lazy. And then the problem of constipation will become much more complicated. Enemas and laxatives are first-aid methods that should be used only once. After applying them, you should start using more gentle procedures.

If, despite all efforts, you are unable to cope with this problem, consult a specialist who will prescribe an adequate treatment regimen.
