25-year-old Manita Singh was admitted to a hospital in the Indian city of Ambikapur only in the 26th week of her pregnancy. She was very worried about the premature labor pains, especially since she lost her newborn son two years ago.
At 11 am local time, the doctors gave birth to a tiny girl. Soon after, her four sisters were born.
“I am extremely grateful to God for blessing us with not one but five children. We were devastated when we lost our first child, a son, right after he was born. I believe that God compensates us for this loss. I just hope they all come alive and I can give them a wonderful life,” said excited husband Manish.
The couple did not expect to have as many as 5 children because Manita never went for an ultrasound. The girls, who weigh about 1.5 kg each, are still not quite safe, so doctors are constantly monitoring them. Although they are he althy, the doctors cannot guarantee that they will survive.
