According to a joint study by Austrian and Egyptian specialists, the daily, intensive impact of the switched on mobile phone poses a serious risk of erectile dysfunction, reports CTV News.

Experts studied two groups of men. The observation lasted six years. 20 men from the first group suffered from erectile dysfunction, and 10 men from the second group had no problems in their intimate life.

Each study participant completed a survey dedicated to daily phone use.

The men from the different groups did not differ much in terms of age, height, and testosterone level. But significant differences were detected with regard to the time during which a person kept a switched-on phone in his pocket. People in the main group with erectile dysfunction wore their phones on for an average of 4.4 hours a day, and people in the control group who did not have such a problem - 1.8 hours.

Erectile dysfunction is defined as an impotent condition in which a man is unable to obtain or maintain a full erection. This condition is similar to premature ejaculation in that it can negatively affect both the man and his partner and can put significant strain on the relationship.

Erectile dysfunction can often be detrimental to a woman who fears that her partner is not aroused because he does not find her attractive and sexy enough. The man, meanwhile, worries that he is not doing well and is unable to satisfy his partner.

Erectile dysfunction can lead to complications as it can be difficult or even impossible for a couple to conceive, which can be emotionally traumatic if the couple is trying to have a baby.
