I have never heard of such a form of this disease

Each of us has more than once reached for this universal pill, aspirin, known to us since childhood. But there are cases when, after taking it, an attack of shortness of breath occurs, a stuffy nose; facial swelling and red skin rashes appear. All these symptoms suggest the beginning of the so-called aspirin bronchial asthma. Keep in mind that not only aspirin can provoke such a condition, but also other painkillers: analgin, indomethacin, naproxen, voltaren, brufen, etc. All of them belong to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Some complex preparations also contain these dangerous substances for asthmatics. About six percent of the population of our planet cannot tolerate these preparations: these people are short of breath, feel itchy, and some even lose consciousness.

There is another important thing in this regard: in a similar way such patients are affected by yellow-colored preparations or food products, the composition of which includes the natural colorant tartrazine. And also some plant products containing natural aspirin-like substances - salicylates. Patients with aspirin asthma do not tolerate alcoholic beverages, including champagne and dry wines.

Drug therapy during exacerbations of aspirin bronchial asthma does not differ from the treatment of other forms of the disease. At the beginning of the disease, the specific preparations give a good effect, and in more severe cases, inhaled glucocorticosteroids are used. There are also new preparations that have a good therapeutic effect, which your treating doctor will select for you. After everything has been said so far, the logical question follows: what should such people take against headaches? The only medicine they can take in this case is paracetamol, but being extremely careful, because sometimes it causes the same symptoms as aspirin. Also, let's not forget that paracetamol is generally quite toxic to the liver.
