Russian oncologist Ivan Karasev determined the favorite food of patients who died of bowel cancer. He shared on his Instagram profile

He referred to a study by scientists from the American Institute of Oncology Dana-Farber.

After DNA analysis of normal and tumor tissue samples from 900 colorectal cancer patients, they found alkylating mutation signatures in colon cells.

This cancer-causing DNA damage was found to be associated with eating large amounts of red meat.

At the same time, the consumption of chicken or fish does not affect this indicator, as well as the impact of other lifestyle factors.

Scientists estimated that patients with the highest levels of DNA damage were 47% more likely to die from colorectal cancer.

Karasev also revealed the reasons that most often lead to the development of cancer. According to him, the main factors of the disease are the acute physical and emotional exhaustion of the body.

Karasev noted that a person needs eight hours of sleep, it is also important to eat several times a day, not missing breakfast.

In May, the oncologist also recommended a he althy diet to reduce the risk of cancer. He stated that foods such as garlic, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts can be included in the diet. The list also includes flaxseed with lignans and mushrooms.
