According to Ordinance No. 4 of 2009 on the terms and conditions for prescribing and dispensing medicinal products that are fully or partially paid for by the NHIF for the treatment of chronic diseases, are prescribed on a prescription form in quantities for no more than 30 days.
When prescribing the medicinal products, the doctor must comply with the date of dispensing by the pharmacy, documented in the chronically ill patient's prescription book. Regardless of whether the month is 30 or 31 days, if the package of the medicinal product that is prescribed is for example for 28 days, the next prescription is prescribed and filled in the pharmacy on the 29th day from the date of the previous dispensing.
Dispensing of medicinal products is carried out according to the period for which the prescription was written, which is also documented in the chronically ill patient's prescription book. The medication cannot be prescribed and dispensed before the expiry of the term of the previous dispensing.
The regulatory framework is mandatory for the contractual partners of the NHIF - doctors prescribing medicinal products and master pharmacists dispensing medicinal products.
